Whale Storage Boxes – Upcycle

Hello Friends!

So, this week I declared to be “Whale Week” and I shared with you my Whale Tote Bag and my Whale Mason Jugs.

Now for Whale Week I have created…

Whale Storage Boxes

Whale Storage Boxes

I picked up two red storage boxes from Goodwill. I honestly cannot remember the cost, but I think they were $2 each. The red was cute, it wasn’t the look I was going for.

Like everything in my home, I spray-painted the boxes gray.

Now, for the “Whale” part.  I picked up wood veneer rectangles with rounded corners.  I spray-painted the wood pieces black. While that was drying, I printed off images of whale shapes that I found online. I used these  images as stencils.Whale Storage Boxes

I painted my stenciled whales with copper craft paint and glued them to the grey boxes. These whale storage boxes will be mostly for the boy’s stuff. I like them and that they are not in your face ” I am a kids storage box”.

They have already started to fill them up with their bits and pieces. I might have to put a box of baking soda in the first box.

Whale Week

I hope you enjoyed “Whale Week” as much as I did.

Thanks for visiting, Carmody

I am slightly obsessed with bins of all kinds and the one type I can never find a use for are red ones but they are available everywhere. I love what you did and now my wheels are turning. So cute… great job and I shared on my FB page too!

Thanks Heather! It is my front door, it was already like that when we purchased the house. It is what got our attention to take a look inside.
