Valentine Photo Shoot

Valentine Photo Shoot

Bryce valentines

I love Valentine’s Day stuff.  I don’t care about going out to an expensive dinner  or getting overpriced flowers. I love the crafty part of Valentine’s Day.  You know, paper hearts and glue sticks.  I had an idea of setting up a backdrop in our home, so that I could take some photos of the boys.

Anytime I plan on getting their picture made, one of them has a meltdown or refuses to participate.   This time I decided to surprise them with a photo shoot in the corner of our living-room.

With supplies from the Dollar Store I created a backdrop.  I used red poster-board, white paper doilies and origami paper cut into hearts  strung by twine.  I also picked up red carnations at the grocery store.  I used glue sticks to attach the doilies to the poster-board, then stapled the backdrop to the wall.

I had it set up before they woke up in the morning.  They walked into the living-room and were  excited  and eager to have their photo taken. (This never happens!) The boys even wanted to use the flowers as a prop.  Putney, our dog, joined in the fun.

I still can’t believe my surprise photo shoot worked. Bryce, my toddler, destroyed the back drop before I had the opportunity to get a photo with both of them at the same time.

I still managed to get a few really sweet shots.
