I am super excited to share with you this easy and pretty craft project. It is great for Valentines Day or any day of the year. Are you ready?
River Rock Art- A Valentine’s Day Project.
Here is an easy DIY River Rock Art project. We have a stone fireplace mantle and the river rocks compliment the texture.
I used the packaging from a Melissa & Doug art set to display the rocks. They always have great packaging that can be re-purposed. With white house paint, I applied 2 coats the box.
I had a few bags of river rocks that I picked up from a craft store. My preschooler helped me sort the rocks into colors (until he became bored). We created a heart shape out of the darker rocks and filled the remaining space with light colored rocks.
With E6000 Adhesive I attached the rocks inside the box. This glue works great, but REALLY smelly. I didn’t let my preschooler help with this part. I even wore a mask and goggles while working with the adhesive.
With red acrylic paint, I trimmed the edge of the of the river rock art piece.
The piece turned out pretty and is a great addition to my Valentine’s Day mantle.
I hope you enjoyed this project and give it a try.
