Draw on your shoes – Sharpie Designs

I feel like it has been winter forever! I have been daydreaming about  wearing sandals and summer dresses. In preparation for warmer weather, I sorted through my summer shoes to determine what needed to be donated. I came across these sad looking sandals. So sad.

They are my really comfortable, but not really cute sandals. You know, we all have them.  These sandals are nude in color and made of leather.  They have been used and loved and were looking really tired.  I was about to toss them in the donate pile, but then I had an idea….why not draw on them with my new gold metallic sharpie. When I was a kid, I had all sorts of ornate drawings on my Keds and Converse shoes.  Why not give it a try. I pulled out my ruler and gold sharpie and got to work.

I really did not have a clear vision of how I wanted the shoes to look until I got started drawing.

I just started to make a pattern on the leather shoe straps with my gold sharpie.  I made sure that I repeated the same pattern on both sandals.

I did a simple design on the top strap and wedge part of the sandal. I colored the bottom strap and back strap completely gold.

First let me say that I am not a foot model… But, these shoes turned out pretty stinking cute.

I think that I love the detail on the wedge the best.  So, the next time you are about to toss out some of your favorite shoes, why not go back to your elementary days and draw on your shoes.

These really are stinkin’ cute! I would never think to draw on my shoes (not even my old runners…too old for that). I admire your creativity. Oh, and…you SHOULD be a foot model!

Fun! I never wear wedges or heels (they make me taller than my fiancé and that’s a little awkward to me!), but I have plenty of tennis shoes that could use a makeover.

Natasha, I bet you could give flats a new life with a gold sharpie.
