Diy Accent Art

Here is an easy tutorial on how to create simple diy accent art.   The design on this piece will add interest and fun to any room.

While organizing my art supplies, I came canvas painting that I created a few years ago.  The painting was over worked and  not very good… really bad.  I purposely did not photograph the painting before.. it would be embarrassing.  One positive, the size of the canvas was  8 x 10, the perfect accent piece size.

My first step in creating my diy accent art was to spray paint the canvas a dark purple.  I love purple and it is the Pantone color of the year…. so I started with purple.

With masking tape I created a design on the canvas.  I recreated the same pattern as I did on my office desk.

Then, I coated the canvas with gray spray paint and let dry.

I carefully removed the tape from the canvas and ta-da.  I have a new DIY Accent Art piece.

I added the piece to the gallery wall in my office. It was a much better option to reuse the canvas than toss it.

So cute. I’m a total fan of making my own artwork but never thought to use spray paint.
