BBQ Place Setting & 10 Projects & Recipes for a Perfect BBQ

Hi Friends!

I hope y’all are enjoying the summer so far.   The summers in South can be pretty freaking hot.  Even with the heat, we cook on the grill at least one day a week.  In the South we call cooking food items on the grill “grilling” or “grilling out”.  The term “BBQ” is usually reserved  for cooking Pork in a BBQ sauce on the grill. Our friends, who are transplants from Boston, were always talking about BBQing. My husband and I just thought they really like pork.  I created a “pork” or pig themed place setting that everybody (North +South) will enjoy. Whether you BBQ or Grill you will love these BBQ Projects & Recipes that my crafty friends have created just for you.

BBQ Place Setting

BBQ Inspired Table Setting

I know, I know, you guys are like…this girl lives in North Carolina, why doesn’t she whip up some NC BBQ? My answer, I am really not that good at cooking on the grill.  However, I am damn good and cute table settings.

The project started like this: My Kids and I were hanging out at a toy store on a rainy morning and my eyes met these cute little piggies. I knew they were meant to come home with me.

bronze pigs

I spray painted these little piglets a bronze color and purchased some clear shower curtain rings.

group pigs picI attached my bronzed pigs to the shower curtain rings with hot glue. I picked up some blue bandanas to act as fabric napkins.  The blue and the bronze look great together, right?

I paired the napkin holders with my “Eat” and “Yum” Placemats that I showed you guys a few weeks ago. They look really great together and both work well outside.

As for the plates and cups…. there is nothing wrong with paper plates and solo cups. Oh yeah, I prefer to grill food items like hotdogs, hamburgers and corn on the cob.  In other words, things that you can eat with your fingers. So what do you think about my BBQ Place Setting?

The piggy napkin rings are so stinkin’ cute!! I especially love that they’re easy and you really only need three ‘ingredients.’ Totally charming with the blue bandanas!

We totally call our get togethers “grilling out” as well up here in Wisconsin and we also reserve BBQ for sauces/rubs etc.

Good to know that North Carolina and Wisconsin are on the same page with “grilling out”.

Carmody, these little guys are adorable! I love the glam gold paint you dressed them up in. NC BBQ is my favorite and just the thought of it makes me want to road trip over to your good state to eat some for lunch!

Here in Texas, I usually think of brisket when someone says BBQ. And sauce, lots and lots of sauce! Adorable project!

Those piggie napkin rings are absolutely perfect for a BBQ! I’m thinking of having a big ole pig pickin for my Honey’s 40th. These would make the table!

Please come share this project at my Show-Licious Party on Saturday morning!
